Joining the club

Interested in joining? Book a trial session by emailing one of our coaches — whether you're new to competitive swimming or transferring from another club.

Swimming SA Membership

You can join the club using SwimCentral. This is Swimming Australia’s central system through which swimmers across Australia join their clubs and can enter competitions.

Requirements

  • All swimmers under the age of 18 require a parent to join as a Non-Swimmer Member.

  • The registering parent must have a Working with Children Check uploaded to SwimCentral.

  • Members over 18 including parents require a Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport certificate uploaded to Swim Central.

  • All members are required to upload a passport sized photo to SwimCentral.

The membership year runs from 1 October – 30 September.

Once you’ve registered and paid for your membership, you can register for competitions by logging into SwimCentral.

STARplex Swim Centre Membership

You are also required to sign up to the STARplex Swim Centre as a member. To do so, drop in or contact the pool office by calling 08 8522 0622 or emailing swim@starplex.com.au.

Volunteering

The STARplex Swim Club is proudly run by a dedicated group of volunteers, including our Committee. To support our swimmers, we ask parents/guardians to contribute their time by volunteering at swim carnivals and fundraising events.

Officiating

Becoming a technical official is a great way to contribute to the sport. Find out more about how to become a Technical Official.

Frequently asked questions

  • When you first join the club, you will receive a complimentary STARplex swimming cap.

    Uniform can be purchased by emailing Starplex.uniforms@gmail.com.

  • Competition entries are managed through SwimCentral. You can find a carnival using the events calendar.

    Each squad has targeted meets which we expect athletes to attend where possible. These are circulated to members at the start of each season. If you are unsure about what meets or races to enter, please speak to your swimmer’s coach.
