Six STARplex Swimmers Set for Australian Short Course Championships
Good luck to our team of six athletes heading to Sydney to compete at the Australian Short Course Championships this week.
Representing STARplex on the national stage, our swimmers are ready to test themselves against some of the country's best. Read more about each athlete and their event line-up.
Cody Charleson
Cody will make his debut at the Open National Championships, taking on the 50m Breaststroke and 100m Individual Medley.
Competing at this level for the first time is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations on qualifying, Cody, and best of luck in Sydney!
Kegan Coulter
Kegan heads into his second Australian Short Course Open National Championships with a massive program across the four days of competition. Showcasing his versatility, Kegan will contest the 50m, 100m and 200m Breaststroke, 50m Freestyle, 50m, and 200m Backstroke, plus the 100m, 200m and 400m Individual Medley. It will be a busy week in the pool for one of the team's most versatile athletes.
James McKechnie
One of the most experienced members of the squad, James will race the 50m and 100m Breaststroke along with the 50m Freestyle and 100m IM. After claiming gold in both breaststroke events last year, he'll be aiming to defend his titles and continue his impressive form on the national stage.
Annabelle Skeen
Annabelle is preparing for her first National Championships appearance. She will race in the multi-class program, in the 100m and 200m Individual Medley, along with the 200m and 400m Freestyle. Earning a place at this meet is a significant achievement, and we can't wait to see Annabelle enjoy the experience.
Ewan Stubbings
Ewan will make his Open National Championships debut and has a busy championship campaign ahead. He will compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke, as well as the 50m and 200m Freestyle. After a strong year of racing, Ewan has earned his place on the national stage and will be looking to make the most of his first Open National Championships experience.
Matthew Waligora
Matthew is set for his first National Championships appearance and will race the 50m Breaststroke on Day 2 of the meet. Reaching the national stage is a fantastic milestone, and we're excited to see him take on the challenge.
